I wanted to have my Lucywen sleeping and elf heads painted after I had ordered them blank. In the past, I've always made doll-related transactions through a distributor like Denver Doll Emporium because it makes me feel more secure when ordering expensive dolls from overseas. That way, if something goes wrong, it isn't simply my word that it did; rather, it's the trusted word of the distributor. But to have these heads painted, I needed to work with Fairyland directly, and I was nervous about shipping overseas to Korea and communication with nonnative English speakers.
Thankfully Fairyland was a dream to work with. They told me when the heads arrived, confirmed my shipping address before sending back the heads, and sent me tracking information. Their communication was clear, polite, and professional. When the heads arrived, they were packed extremely well, in a large box with lots of bubble wrap and face protectors. I'm so grateful that Fairyland made this a pleasant and painless experience, and that they were willing to paint the heads that I had ordered blank.

My first time applying doll lashes went well. I really like them on Echo. I used a lighted magnifier when I applied them. Now I want to use it for all faceup work, and I think I want to redo Echo's lips at some point.
I was surprised by how much more detail I could see with the magnifier. I definitely think that I could paint a better faceup if I used one. It might even be worth investing in an optivisor, a magnifying visor that I can wear over my glasses. This afternoon I hope to work on Echo's clothes, but my body wants to nap. I'm so torn. Maybe a quick nap and then sewing. I'm doing a little photo editing to envision Jasphene's faceup and eyes. I used the photo on the left. My edited version is on the right. This is not my photo. It belongs to etna_san on Instagram, and the doll is her Lorelei. I'm just using it to mock up what I want Jasphene to look like. Jasphene will be a very different doll. But hopefully doing this will help me place and shape her eyebrows how I want them and choose the eye size I want.
